What is the Summarizer?
The WriteWise Summarizer function will allow you to summarize the whole or parts of your text into just a few sentences with four clicks. You can use the Summarizer to slim down a full length article or to trim up just a paragraph – it will fit to your needs!
Since the Summarizer is AI-powered, you can be sure that the summarized text will contain the points most central to your original idea.

Written Guide
Step 1: Select the “Summarizer” function
On the top horizontal menu, select the option “Summarizer.”
Step 2: Select the text you want to summarize
Use your mouse to highlight the section of text you want to summarize. You can select as little or as much text as you want – from a partial phrase to various paragraphs.
Please note, if you select a very large amount of text, the summarize function may freeze. If this happens, please select a shorter amount of text and run the function again.
Step 3: Click “Summarize”
Once you have selected the text you want to summarize, the “Summarize” button will become active by turning blue.
Click the “Summarize” button to run the function. The length of the text selected to summarize will determine how long the analysis will run before providing a result. However, a response is most often given within 10 seconds.
Step 4: Click “Insert Text”
If you are satisfied with the result given by the Summarizer function, you should then click the “Insert Text” button to replace the highlighted text with the new text.
If you do not want to replace the highlighted text but simply want to insert the summarized text into the text-editing area, use your mouse to place the cursor where you want to insert the text. In other words, you should deselect the highlighted text. Once your cursor is in place, click the “Insert Text” button.
Common Questions
If your question is not answered by this article or any other FAQ article, please do not hesitate to contact us at support@writewise.io.
What do I do if the Summarizer is not loading?
Responses from the WriteWise Summarizer function should usually appear within 10 seconds. However, if you have selected a very large section of text to summarize, you may have to wait a little longer.
If the result of the Summarizer is not provided within 30 seconds, we recommend refreshing the function and trying again. If the issue persists, please select a shorter section of text to summarize. In other words, if you select too much text to summarize at once, this may cause the Summarizer function to freeze.
If the issue persists, try refreshing your browser. Please also be sure to review your internet connection. If these suggestions do not resolve the error, please contact us at support@writewise.io.
I am not satisfied with the results, can I run the analysis again?
Unfortunately, if you run the analysis again for the same portion of text, you will get the same response.
If you are unsatisfied with the response, you can select more or less text and run the analysis again to get new results. If still unsatisfied, we recommend that you still insert the text and then use the thousands of Sentence Templates provided by WriteWise to make the text your own.
Finally, we can recommend you try other free tools such as Quillbot – however, the free version is greatly limited in the results provided.
